COPP Groups in Manitoba

COPP Patrol Member


  • Patrol the community, as appropriate, on foot, by bike or by vehicle.
  • Identify suspicious or concerning behaviour.
  • Notify local law enforcement agency about emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Maintain awareness of community crime deterrence activities and initiatives.
  • Assist in increasing awareness and providing crime prevention information to local citizens, businesses and community organizations.
  • Keep and maintain proper notes.
  • Follow COPP policy and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Offer a positive and respectful presence in the community.


  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • In good health.
  • Live, work or have a vested interest in the patrol area.
  • Must complete a criminal record search.
  • Good interpersonal skills and communications skills.
  • Possess positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a professional manner.
  • Willing to participate in training sessions.

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum hours per month (to be determined by the group)
